Summary

The conclusion of the epic trilogy from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Awakening and The Becoming。

Talamh is a land of green hills, high mountains, deep forests, and seas, where magicks thrive。 But portals allow for passage in and out--and ultimately, each must choose their place, and choose between good and evil, war and peace, life and death。。。

Breen Siobhan Kelly grew up in the world of Man and was once unaware of her true nature。 Now she is in Talamh, trying to heal after a terrible battle and heartbreaking losses。 Her grandfather, the dark god Odran, has been defeated in his attempt to rule over Talamh, and over Breen--for now。

With the enemy cast out and the portal sealed, this is a time to rest and to prepare。 Breen spreads her wings and realizes a power she's never experienced before。 It's also a time for celebrations--of her first Christmas in both Talamh and Ireland, of solstice and weddings and births--and daring to find joy again in the wake of sorrow。 She rededicates herself to writing her stories, and when his duties as taoiseach permit, she is together with Keegan, who has trained her as a warrior and whom she has grown to love。

It's Keegan who's at her side when the enemy's witches, traitorous and power-mad, appear to her in her sleep, practicing black magick, sacrificing the innocent, and plotting a brutal destruction for Breen。 And soon, united with him and with all of Talamh, she will seek out those in desperate need of rescue, and confront the darkness with every weapon she has: her sword, her magicks--and her courage。。。

Probably Nora’s most woke book to date。 I love Marco but his role was too much here。 I wanted more Keegan and more Breen with Keegan。 I didn’t like that one death and I could have done with less writing/publishing stuff and more of the After。

I don’t think I’ll ever feel like I got enough time with these characters

Well worth the waitI waited a longtime for the third book and couldn't put it down。 I just wish there was a fourth book so I don't haven't to leave these characters behind。 Well worth the waitI waited a longtime for the third book and couldn't put it down。 I just wish there was a fourth book so I don't haven't to leave these characters behind。 。。。more

There was one good book in these 3 but none of them are up to the usual Nora Roberts trilogy standards。 There are pages and pages of mood setting。 More pages melodrama and very little real heart on the page。 I wanted to love them all but sadly it's just not on the page or in the story。 There was one good book in these 3 but none of them are up to the usual Nora Roberts trilogy standards。 There are pages and pages of mood setting。 More pages melodrama and very little real heart on the page。 I wanted to love them all but sadly it's just not on the page or in the story。 。。。more

The best ending of a great trilogy! Though I wouldn't mind any additions to this great story。 This brought all of the feels and wrapped up everything nicely。 The characters were fantastic and I felt I knew each one。 I felt such joy for Marco。 The narrator of the audio book was fabulous。 She was perfect for this trilogy。 The best ending of a great trilogy! Best series I've read in years!!!Where to begin? The worlds crafted in this epic story of love, courage and magic are so beautifully told that I've held them in my heart over the years reading this series。 Ireland is the home of my heart and ancestry so I may be biased, but I could hear and feel and experience every single word。 If you enjoy magic, adventure, romance and rooting for the perceived underdog。。。 This series will steal your heart。。。and a few nights sleep。 Where is that 6th STAR when Best series I've read in years!!!Where to begin? Absolutely wonderful! The last book of this trilogy is phenomenal! Action-packed, with duty, war, friendship and love。 Nora Roberts has outdone herself with this book。 This trilogy is one I will most definitely re-read。 Just fabulous!

I found myself wishing that there would be more - maybe a sequel - because I loved so many of these characters。 Only one disappointment marred the story, and it's not enough for me to reduce my rating: I wished that Breen's mother had softened。 It was clear that she reacted to a terrifying situation, as any mother would, and was desperate to keep control。 Having her remain rigid in the face of her daughter, who had clearly found so much joy and confi Such a satisfying end to a wonderful trilogy! The conclusion of the trilogy was amazing! And yet I want more! I need more of their love and life in the “after”So so good I love the love and respect and detail of everything good bad and evil! The tears I shed and laughs as well have me addicted once again to Nora’s amazing Irish tales!

The formulas work for a reason。 However, this trilogy does move away from most of her tried and true formulas。 I loved the heroine from the beginning。 She was flawed with low self esteem, but still took chances and did hard things。 She had created an unusual but loving and solid family, despite the dysfunction of her blood family。 And I want to borrow her best friend! The male lead is not my favorite of Roberts’ characters and maybe that’s one of the biggest departures from her formula。 The romance was secondary, not really necessary to the resolution of the drama, and between two flawed people that didn’t expect love to show up and at times, weren’t happy that it had。 The big bad ended up just being a psycho megalomaniac as they often do, and while some interesting decisions were made, I felt like some of the battles leading up to the final one were better described and more emotionally fraught。 All together the world building was excellent and I’d like to read more stories set there。 The supporting characters almost overshadowed the “lead characters” which was a fun turn in the storytelling。 I’d definitely recommend this as one of the many excellent trilogies and series by Nora Roberts。 As a side note, the audiobooks are also really good。 。。。more

I have mixed thoughts about this book。 While I enjoyed the book for the most part, the ending seemed a bit abrupt and a few threads didn't get unraveled satisfactorily。 I'm not going into details because of spoilers, but I just thought some areas needed more than what was there。 Many thanks to St。 Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book。 My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation。 I have mixed thoughts about this book。 While I enjoyed the book for the most part, the ending seemed a bit abrupt and a few threads didn't get unraveled satisfactorily。 I'm not going into details because of spoilers, but I just thought some areas needed more than what was there。 Many thanks to St。 Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book。 My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation。 。。。more

Best of the threeI love the works of Nora Roberts and this trilogy more than her others。I love how it encompasses three worlds and how it ends。 It could have only been better if the epilogue encompassed bringing Sally and Derrick to Ireland。

Amazing finale to a Fantastic seriesOf all the Wonderful worlds the great Nora Roberts has created, this is, by far, the best one yet! So fun has it been to become a part of the Talamh world that reading and rereading each book before the sequel has been such a pleasure! I also got the series on Audible so I could listen to it as well! Nora Roberts is my comfort food and this series simply makes my happy。 This satisfying conclusion gave me everything I wanted。 Breen is settling into her new life and preparing to face down her enemies with Keegan at her side。 This story has it all。 An epic battle, love and friendships that are more like family。 Huge thank you to @stmartinspress and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review。

AmazingThis was so incredible but I want more。 What about the weddings? And the Capital? Does Brian bond with another dragon?

Once again, I used Audible in lieu of reading the book on my Kindle (a recommendation from a friend)。 The narrator, @BarrieKreinik enabled the characters to stand out, voices and accents were excellent and she did justice to @NoraRoberts ‘s book。 A definite 5⭐️ narration。 The author did a great job of keeping the reader’s attention throughout the book。 While I wish there was more to the trilogy, I do not feel left hanging。

Spellbinding This was one of the most exciting and nerve wracking endings I have had the pleasure of reading, from an author who knows how to take you along on the journey。 My only regret is that it had to end。 How I wish there was another story of the after。

Average readIt's been a long time since I've read a Nora Roberts book and at first I thought I'd just forgotten her style。 But it felt more like she didn't care about this story as much。 I couldn't get with the main characters。 They didn't really have much depth。 I liked the side characters much more。 Even the dog was better。 If I didn't know better I'd say she had a ghost writer。 The transitions between scenes was not well done and it took me time to realize when the scene had changed which was Average readIt's been a long time since I've read a Nora Roberts book and at first I thought I'd just forgotten her style。 But it felt more like she didn't care about this story as much。 I couldn't get with the main characters。 They didn't really have much depth。 I liked the side characters much more。 Even the dog was better。 If I didn't know better I'd say she had a ghost writer。 The transitions between scenes was not well done and it took me time to realize when the scene had changed which was annoying。 It was entertaining enough to read the full trilogy, but not one I'd recommend。 。。。more

If I could give it 10 stars I would。 What a delicious conclusion to her latest trilogy。 I laughed, I cried and I held my breath。 Wonderfully crafted characters that drew me in and made me care。 Nora Roberts is nothing short of a genius。

The author does a brilliant job of taking us from the fae world to the real world and back again。 The locations and characters, were easy to fall in love with。 If you like Irish mythology, and just overall brilliant, fantasy writing, I highly recommend this series。 I can only hope that the author chooses to write more of this world and it’s characters。 I didn’t want it to end。
